It’s been 20 years since the 2003 High School Baseball season was moved back until the end of May due to extreme weather conditions. The extreme Latest Spring weather conditions in 2023 are quite similar to the South Dakota Spring weather of 2003 and 2013. In 2013 David Kemp created an essay recalling the experiences of the Organizers of South Dakota Baseball in 2003, one of the first years of statewide High School Baseball in South Dakota. That experience has several comparisons that might apply to what will transpired in the coming two months of the 2023 South Dakota High School baseball season.
